Join us to meet and hear from NOVA legislators about the successes and failures of the 2018 VA General Assembly. Bring your questions and concerns! The event will take place on Saturday, April 21 from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Conference Room at Virginia International University.
The forum will focus on the current immigration debate and the critical policy and identity issues at stake. From the legacy of the 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act to the impact of the current political climate and legislative battles – the speakers trace the key political and social impact of these developments in Northern Virginia.
On Friday, October 13 SPIA Students toured the Capitol, sat at the U.S. House of Representatives and visited the offices of Senator Tim Kaine where they met with his legislative corespondents, Ms. Portia Boon and Andrew Kalaris. Our next tour will be the United Nations headquarters in New York City in early November.
