On Friday, September 21st 2018, Virginia International University hosted a delegation from International Youth Fellowship (IYF) a faith-based non-profit organization headquartered in the state of California.
Ms. Deborah Brent, Associate Vice-President of Local Enrollment Services and Communications, welcomed the guests and toured the VIU campus. The delegation then met with Dr. Suleyman Bahceci, Executive Vice President of University Advancement, and Ms. Tanith Fowler Corsi, Academic Affairs Coordinator, to discuss possible partnership agreements and study abroad/service learning opportunities.
Dr. Bahceci briefed the delegation about the VIU partnership process and reviewed mutual collaboration benefits for VIU and IYF. VIU’s English Language programs, flexible online academic programs, and customized professional development courses were main topics of discussion regarding potential areas of collaboration. IYF is well connected with the South Korean government as well as with Korean universities potentially interested in sending students to study in the United States.
