Dr. Mayyada Al Hammoshi will be presenting at the 2017 International Conference on Computing and Technology.
“The paper is about Internet of Things security hazards. It explains the security risks, challenges and vulnerabilities then offers some general and technical recommendations to protect end users and devices from these sort of problems.” Full abstract:
Internet of Things (IoT) became an essential tool nowadays in every practical or scientific field. IoT connects intelligently fixed or mobile devices, moving objects or even animals in one network. IoT connected things became more than people for the last six years. IoT things are 20 billion devices at 2017 and expected to be 50 billion by 2020. However, we have to see the other face of the coin. IoT faces security risks, threats, hazards and challenges as well. This paper presents IoT major security risks, challenges and vulnerabilities. As a mitigation plan, the paper suggests recommendations to avoid major security threats and hazards.
