National Cyber Security Awareness Month

National Cyber Security Awareness Month

The School of Computer Information Science is excited to announce that Virginia International University is now a partner in the Department of Homeland Security Stop.Think.Connect.™ Campaign’s Academic Alliance. STOP. THINK. CONNECT.™ is the global online safety awareness campaign to help all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and the annual campaign is used to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity.

Have you noticed how much the Internet is involved in your day to day life? The Internet touches almost all aspects of everyone’s daily life, whether we realize it or not. National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) is designed to engage and educate public and private sector partners through events and initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity, provide them with tools and resources needed to stay safe online, and increase the resiliency of the Nation in the event of a cyber incident.
