The School of Education wishes to congratulate Dr. Jillian Wendt on her recent appointment to the Association of Teacher Educators’ Research Committee. The Association of Teacher Educators (ATE) serves to improve teacher education nationally and has two voting seats on the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
Dr. Wendt’s appointment to the Research Committee for ATE includes participation in and regular communication with ATE committee members to make research-based recommendations to advance the field of teacher education. According to ATE, “The Research Committee promotes, initiates, and coordinates program development and research, placing special emphasis on collaborative efforts. The committee also recognizes and reports exemplary research and program development efforts, identifies and sanctions needed research, and submits to the appropriate committees recommendations for publications.” Dr. Wendt’s appointment continues until 2017.
