The 10th Annual Virginia International University Commencement Ceremony will take place in the May 10, 2015 at Woodson High School, 9525 Main Street Fairfax, Virginia, 22031. Graduates will start lining up at 12:45 PM, the ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM.
Invitations are available online for friends and family of graduates and program completers. Woodson High School, the graduation venue, will be open for the sale of flowers and memorabilia beginning at 1:00 PM on the day of the ceremony.
This year, VIU is honored to have one of its VIU Advisory Board Members, Dr. Thomas A. Cellucci, PhD, MBA, Chairman & CEO of Cellucci Associates, Inc. as the commencement keynote speaker. Dr. Cellucci is an accomplished serial entrepreneur, managing partner of sizeable ($1B scale) private equity funds, and senior executive/board member with experience in both the private and public sectors. He also served as the first Chief Commercialization Officer in the US federal government. During his public service, he made significant contributions by engagingly developing and implementing innovative public-private partnerships that enabled cost-effective and efficient development of products and services to keep the nation safe. He was called “A Strategist that EXECUTES” by the worldwide press.
Cellucci was an early pioneer in advancing the field of nanotechnology in American science, engineering, and manufacturing, and in 2004 he added over $3.9 billion to the federal budget signed by President George W. Bush as a National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) specific to the advancement of nanotechnology. Dr. Cellucci also served on President Barack Obama’s Startup America initiative as the Department of Homeland Security representative.
“A Change Agent” noted by many organizations in the public sector of our country, Dr. Cellucci will share powerful insights from his vast experience in US technology, innovation, and education at this year’s ceremony.
