Known as the Fourth of July, Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States, which commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the document which declared the states’ independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Americans celebrate the Fourth of July in many ways, most commonly with picnics, parades, barbecues, fairs, carnivals, concerts, outdoor games and family gatherings, and always with fireworks! Besides being a day to show patriotism, where you will see American flag designs on everything from t-shirts to cakes, Independence Day is a true celebration of summer. So, if you want to experience a true American Fourth of July celebration, gather outside with friends, eat great food, play outside games, blast that patriotic music (or go to an outdoor concert) and find a place to watch a fireworks display in the evening!
